Dhaka: The ruling Awami League has submitted 10 names to the search committee for the appointment of the next chief election commissioner and four other election commissioners.
AL information and research secretary Dr Salim Mahmud submitted a sealed letter containing the names to cabinet division at around 12:00 noon.
The search committee on Tuesday decided to send letters to the registered political parties asking them to propose names for the chief election commissioner and other election commissioners by 5:00pm on February 11.
President Md Abdul Hamid constituted the six-member search committee on February 5 for the appointment of the next CEC and other commissioners.
