Dhaka: Bangladesh has notched one step in the Economist Intelligence Unit's Democracy Index 2021.
According to report published on Thursday, Bangladesh has been positioned at 75 out of 167 countries. The country is on par with Tunisia on the global index considering electoral process and pluralism, the functioning of government, political participation, democratic political culture and civil liberties.
Most of the countries saw ebb in average score or stagnated last year (2021), says the report.
