Personal assistant Maqsood Alam Shipon to the MP of Dhaka-17 constituency and film actor Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooque has been released on charges of corruption and irregularities.
Farooque’s son Sharat confirmed the matter to media at noon on Wednesday.
Sharat said Shipon had committed corruption and financial irregularities by defaming his father. This has tarnished the reputation of his father. As a result, Shipon has been removed from the responsibility of his father's personal assistant.
Farooque, who has been ill for a long time, is being treated at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. His physical condition is improving. Sharat said he was taken to the cabin from ICU recently.
