Elina Shammi herself confirmed the matter to media.

“I signed a contract on Monday to be part of the Bangabandhu biopic film directed by Bollywood's famous producer Shyam Benegal. This will surely be one of the most monumental films and I am glad to be part of such prestigious history,” the actress said.

The shooting of her part will begin on December 6, she informed.

Actor Arifin Shuvoo will play the role of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, while Nusraat Faria Mazhar will play the role of Bangabandhu's daughter and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, in the biopic.

In other pivotal roles, Nusrat Imroz Tisha (Fazilatunnesa), Raisul Islam Asad (Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani), Ferdous Ahmed (Tajuddin Ahmed), and Misa Sawdagar (General Ayub Khan) have been cast.

The first phase of the movie started shooting at Dada Saheb Phalke Studios in Mumbai at the end of January this year and continued till April. Though the movie was supposed to be released in March, the shooting could not be completed due to Coronavirus.
