Dhaka: Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen was admitted to a hospital in the capital after he fell ill onboard a plane.
The minister was returning home by a Turkish Airlines jet on Sunday after a visit to Turkey.
Upon his arrival at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, he was taken to the Combined Military Hospital around 3:00pm, a foreign ministry official said.
Meanwhile, his political aide Shofiul Alam Jewel in a Facebook post said, “He is under observation at the CMH in Dhaka. His condition has improved”.
Foreign Minister Momen flew to the UAE with the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on March 7 to join the Dubai Expo. From there, he flew to Turkey on March 11 to join the Anatolia Diplomacy Forum.
