Dhaka: Bangladesh recorded 30 more deaths and 9,052 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am Friday.
The positivity rate in the past 24 hours stood at 22.95%, down from 25.86% in the previous day, a DGHS release confirmed this afternoon.
With today's additions, the death toll reached 28,524 and the case tally climbed to 18,44,828 in Bangladesh.
On Thursday, Covid killed 33 people and infected 11,596 in the country.
Also, 6,228 Covid patients recovered from the viral disease durng the 24 hours period with recovery rate of 86.04%.
The country reported this year’s first zero Covid-related death in a single day on November 20 last year along with 178 infections since the pandemic broke out in Bangladesh in March 2020.
Besides, the country registered the highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28 last year, while the highest number of daily fatalities was 264 on August 10 last year.
