The Bangladesh Cricket Board’s bowling action review committee manager Nasir Ahmed confirmed the matter on Wednesday.
“A bowling action of Ashraful was suspected during the NCL last round match against Chattogram. We wanted to show the video footage to Ashraful but this is not possible because he is now in the bio-bubble system. We are in talks regarding the matter,” he said.
“Ashraful has been representing in international and domestic cricket for many years and this is the first time his action has been reported as suspect. As it is a matter of just one ball which was suspected, we can reconsider him this time,” he added.
Ashraful bowled 10 overs in the first innings against Chattogarm in the NCL fourth round. He conceded 39 runs and was wicketless.
Chattogram defeated Barishal by an innings and 73 runs in that match.
The veteran cricketer earlier claimed five wickets for 53 runs in the second round match in the ongoing tournament.
