Sports Desk: Members of both Bangladesh and Australia teams tested corona negative in their first PCR test, confirmed a Bangladesh Cricket Board official on Friday.

Both Bangladesh and Australia, who are scheduled to play a five-match T20I series from August 3 at the Sher-e Bangla National Stadium, are currently in room quarantine after arriving in Dhaka on Thursday.

All the members had to undergo the Covid-19 test upon their arrival from their respective destinations.

After completing the three-day quarantine and receiving negative Covid results, both teams will start their preparation at the SBNS from Sunday.

“Our preparation is completed and the Australia team can start their practice from August 1. We are doing some last-minute preparation keeping their demands in mind,” BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters on Friday.

“In this situation, there is a protocol for a standard bio bubble. Besides, Australia demanded some other things which we have fulfilled and it's normal now. This is how we have to organize events.

“I think whatever they have received is more than their expectations and according to information that we have received they are very happy with it.

“The first step was to make sure they reach the hotel without any hassle and as we managed to do it I think they are happy with it,” he said, adding that if they can make this tour successful it will have a big impact on the long run.

“Of course, if we can make it successful with the cooperation from all, it will make an impact on the next tours and will increase our confidence level,” he added.

The matches, which are scheduled to take place on August 3, 4, 6, 7 and 9 respectively at the SBNS, will begin at 06:00pm.
