Dhaka: Bangladesh on Monday recorded 104 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths in last 24 hours.
“The tally of infections has surged to 8,96,770 as 8,364 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours,” Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its routine daily statement.
A total of 104 COVID-19 patients died in the last 24 hours increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 14,276 .
During this period, 35,059 samples were tested across the country. It said 23.86 percent of the samples were tested positive.
The recovery count rose to 807,673 after another 3,570 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past one day.
The DGHS statistics showed of the people infected from the beginning 90.51 percent recovered, while 1.60 percent died.
