Dhaka: Former Home Minister and Awami League presidium member Advocate Sahara Khatun, undergoing treatment at United Hospital in the capital, has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) again as her condition deteriorated further.
The 77-year-old politician was moved to the ICU on Friday morning, said Sahara Khatun’s nephew Mojibar Rahman.
Earlier on June 19, she was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as her condition deteriorated at United Hospital in the city.
On June 2, the Awami League presidium member was admitted to the hospital with fever, allergy and other old-age complications.
Sahara has been elected to parliament from Dhaka-18 constituency for the last three terms consecutively.
She took charge as home minister when the Awami League returned to power in 2008. She was later transferred to the post and telecommunication ministry.
