BornomalaNews (New York): A police officer of Bangladeshi descent has been arrested in New York on charges of threatening to shoot the musician's wife in the head with a gun. His name is Sajal Roy (30). Sajal Roy, who was successful in the Hillside Honda Music Star Search Competition organized by a Bengali TV channel in New York in 2012, joined NYPD in 2016 as an officer in the world's best police force.
Citing his wife, the police said that Sajal had a domestic violence with his wife Roxana Mirza on March 1.Although his wife did not immediately file a complaint against Sajal, Sajal was arrested from her home in Queens at midnight on Friday, May 15, after she complained to police about the torture on Thursday, May 14.
Sajal was fired shortly after the allegations were dropped, and police are investigating.
Meanwhile, accused police officer Sajal Roy told a local English daily that his wife's allegations against him were not true.
Officer Sajal Roy has been working at 105 Precinct since 2016 and was recently promoted to Transit Commander in Brooklyn.
