Sports Desk: Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi’s foundation – Afridi Foundation – has bought the bat of Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, the one he used to score Bangladesh’s first-ever double century in Tests.

The bat was put up for auction to raise funds for the coronavirus-affected people in Bangladesh.

The bat was sold for $20,000 and Mushfiq confirmed the news in his official social media account, along with the relative organization who operated the auction.

Afridi praised Mushfiq for his effort to help the victims of the Covid -19 pandemic and backed him on behalf of Pakistan and Afridi Foundation.

Mushfiq’s management company Nibco struck a deal with Pickaboo.com, an e-commerce site, to operate the auction.

The bid was initially deferred due to fake bidding but the issue was later resolved and finally Afridi Foundation was declared as the highest bidder.
