Dhaka: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that according to the party's president and prime minister Sheikh Hasina, there are about 1,500 infiltrators within the party.
This report comes from a list that the PM has made, he added.
He also said that the PM has given strict orders to observe these infiltrators and to make sure they never get any position in the party.
The minister said this while responding to questions from reporters while visiting the flyover construction work on the Dhaka-Tangail highway at Safipur in Kaliakair of Gazipur on Friday afternoon.
Obaidul Quader said: “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made a list of infiltrators within the party. She's monitoring it herself. There are about 1,500 names on this list. The list has been handed over to authorities to make sure those controversial people do not get any position in Awami League.”
