The BCB, of course, will utilise its scope to do something for Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib, Nizamuddin said.
He made the comment on Thursday while responding to questions of the journalists on the much-talked about issue nowadays.
Nizamuddin said, “The BCB cannot do much because Shakib has admitted the matter. Even though we will find ways that how can we work on legal matters. Already, we have talked to the legal committee whether there is any possibility of taking action. And we will certainly do our best for him.”
“Discussion with legal committee does not mean that his punishment will surely be reduced. Rather, the board will follow step if it finds any path in this regard after logical conversation with the committee,” the BCB CEO pointed out.
Mentionable, the International Cricket Council (ICC) suspended the world’s top all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for not reporting three separate ‘approaches or invitations’ he received to engage in ‘corrupt conduct’; subject to satisfying ICC’s conditions the ban will be reduced to one year and he can resume playing from October 29 next year.
