New Zealand won by 88 runs in the final match at University Oval, Dunedin today.
Batting first, New Zealand set a 331-run target in the final ODI against Bangladesh. Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls and Tom Latham struck fifties as the Bangladesh bowlers, despite the inclusion of Rubel Hossain, struggled to contain the run-flow.
Taylor's 69 took him past Stephen Fleming's 8,007 runs to become New Zealand's highest run-scorer in ODIs, and he did it in much quicker time too, taking only 218 ODIs compared to Fleming's 280.
In reply, Bangladesh managed to score 242 runs losing all wickets in 47.2 overs. Sabbir Rahman struck his maiden century, played a 102-run brilliant innings with 12 fours and 2 sixes while Mohammad Saifuddin and Mehidy Hasan added 44 and 37 runs respectively.
New Zealand'd Tim Southee picked up 6 wickets to be awarded man of the match while Martin Guptill was elected player of the series for his outstanding performance through out the series, coming back after an injury.
