Dhaka: Awami League Presidium Member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury has been appointed as the deputy leader of the 11th parliament for the second term.
President Abdul Hamid made the appointment through an e-filing today.
Confirming the news, president's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin said: “The president made the order through email as he is undergoing treatment in Singapore.”
Sajeda Chowdhury contested in the national election from Faridpur-2 parliamentary constituency on December 30 and elected parliament member.
Earlier, she became the deputy leader of the House of Bangladesh Parliament in February 2009.
