Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has thanked all for giving support to Awami League to form government.
In her nationwide address, she said, “I thanked all of you to give us (Awami League) support to win the parliamentary election and to help in forming government.”
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was addressing the nation for the first time following the formation of her new government earlier this month.
State-owned Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television were simultaneously broadcasting her address.
Private television channels and radio stations were also airing the speech of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Sheikh Hasina formed the government for a third consecutive term following the Awami League's landslide victory in the 11thparliamentary election held on December 30, 2018.
The new cabinet was formed on January 7. The maiden session of the 11th parliament will begin on January 30.
