Queens (New York) Queens Borough President Melinda Katz welcomed Sadia Faizunnesa, the recently-appointed Consul General of Bangladesh in New York, to Queens at Borough Hall on July 12. Among the issues discussed was the recognition of Bangladesh’s Mother Language movement, toward which the Borough President had previously allocated $1.5 million in FY18 for the installation of a commemorative garden and plaque. The Borough President also extended a personal invitation to Consul General Faizunnesa to her annual celebration of Bangladesh’s independence at Queens Borough Hall. (Press release)
