Dhaka: The schedule of the general election will be announced in the last week of October after getting the renewed voter lists from all 300 constituencies of the country, says Election Commission Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed.
The official came up with the disclosure while briefing journalists after a meeting at Election Commission in capital’s Agargaon area today.
Helauddin Ahmed said: “All necessary procedures for holding the national election are expected to be completed by the first week of October. Field-level employees of the Election Commission were instructed to submit the renewed voter lists by the first week of October.”
“Ten Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) in Barishal and two each in Sylhet and Rajshahi will be set-up in the upcoming election of the respective city corporation,” he added.
