Dhaka: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been admitted to capital's United Hospital as he suddenly started feeling unwell on Thursday morning.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi confirmed the news to the journalists.
“Mirza Fakhrul felt sick while participating in the namaj-e-janaza of his uncle Mirza Mizanur Rahman Pinku around 8am at a mosque near to Eskatan's Holy Family Hospital. He was admitted to the United Hospital immediately,” family members said.
Fakhrul is under the care of cardiac specialist Professor Momin-uz-Zaman at the hospital, according to the sources.
