Dhaka: Dr Halima Khatun, a language movement veteran, has passed away at the age of 86.
The language movement veteran was admitted to the United Hospital in the capital on Saturday as she was suffering from kidney and heart diseases.
The attending doctors pronounced her clinically dead around 2:30pm on Tuesday (today).
Her granddaughter Antara Arif Propa has confirmed the news to journalists.
