Dhaka: Some leaders of Bangladesh General Students' Rights Protection Council were physically assaulted allegedly by leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Dhaka University campus today.

Eyewitnesses said, BCL activists launched the attack when the leaders of the quota reform movement were taking preparation to announce fresh programme at a press conference.

At that time, they allegedly beat up Nurul Haq, joint convener of the council, leaving him injured.

Later, the BCL men drove out the quota reform demonstrators from the area and took the position at the library premises.
