Dhaka: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda today said the next parliamentary polls are supposed to be held between December 2018 and early January 2019.
KM Nurul Huda came up with the comment while addressing a workshop held in Brahmanbaria over Brahmanbaria-1 (Nasirnagar) constituency by-polls on Friday.
“This by-poll is like a practice session for you all and you will have to perform your duties in the upcoming national polls,” the CEC told this to polling officers who were present during the workshop there.
While speaking in the workshop he also suggested the polling officers: “It is your main responsibility to ensure that voting is done properly with ballot papers in the polling centres.”
“You (polling officers) should manage the election activities well. If you can manage it well, it is an honour for me but if you fail, I too will fail,” he further stirred the polling officers.
