Dhaka: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP tries to stigmatize the month of August by celebrating fake birthday of its chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia on the National Mourning Day.
“BNP Chairperson Begum Zia celebrates her fake birthday on August 15…We hate it…We want to urge her (Begum Zia) not to celebrate the fake birthday on the National Mourning Day,” he said while talking to reporters after placing wreath at the grave of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnessa Mujib on her 87th birth anniversary at Banani graveyard here.
About BNP's allegation that the government obstructs them in holding their programmes, Quader said the allegation is totally baseless.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa, who had sacrificed her whole life for the people, would remain as an example of an inspiring figure and dedicated lady.BSS
