Hathurusingha8Sports: Bangladesh stepped into the semifinals of the ICC Champions Trophy, the opportunity what they got for the first time will try their best to keep it memorable before the cricketing world.

Chandika Hathurusingha, head coach of Bangladesh, gave such indication after the practice session at Birmingham yesterday. He said that they have enough confidence to face any team at any condition. If they can play their potential they could give run any team.

“The team is more relaxed in the camp. We’re looking forward to the game obviously. At the start of the tournament I said that whatever we’re going to achieve it would be bigger so we’re very happy we are. We’ll play our game being confident. But we’re taking just another game and how we get approached,” said Chandika Hathurusingha.

“I don’t think that we know we realise the opportunity that we are in getting into the semifinals the opportunity for everyone players and coaching staffs. It’s not like the other teams. For us it’s the first time. So, it’s a great opportunity for us to go and express ourselves,” Hathurusingha told media.

“We’re very much confident. We know we do our best we give good runs to any team. So what we hope to do is to maximize our potential and give us a best chance,” he added.

Sri Lanka-born coach said that they have set their right combination over the year who are out to prove their skills aboard after making reportedly success at home.

“It was gradual improvement. If you look at last two years World Cup was, I though, it was big turning point for us getting to the quarterfinals beating England. And then being focused on our domestic series we played in Bangladesh,” the head coach said.

“We achieved that we set in our target that we want to do well at home. Last one year we set our target for doing well in overseas conditions in one-day internationals and Tests. This is our journey.

So coming up to be semifinals is biggest factor over us,” he also told.

“That’s the biggest challenge for us. We had good enough skilled team. Over the years we covered our basic what right combination in place and good combination of youth and experienced. So the biggest hurdle for us is to play away condition,” he added.

Citing the variation of the bowlers as key strength, Chandika said, “We’re better than anybody. But we still have good variations. If you look at our fast bowlers all three are different in terms of skills. And that’s our strength.”
