fakhrul29125Dhaka desk: BNP on Thursday turned down Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader's remarks that it placed Vision-2030 imitating their Vision-2021, saying it is an untrue comment.

Speaking at a press conference at BNP's Nayapaltan central office, its secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that it is rather Awami League which does politics following Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia's polices like free market economy and private investment policy.

“We haven't imitated them (Awami League). Rather, they imitated us. We've invented all the ideas of vision,” he said,

Fakhrul further said, “We would like to clearly say that BNP is always a visionary political party. We presented a vision for the first time in 2001. So, it's totally an untrue remark that we imitated Awami League's vision.”

He claimed that Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia initiated positive reforms in the country's economy, trade, agriculture, industrialisation and many other sectors and modernised those.

He said though Awami League presented a vision, it has no capacity to implement it. “They're indulging in politicisation, plundering, corruption, repressive acts and evil tactics. Their announcement of a charter for change has turned into a farce.”

Replying to a question whether Vision-2030 is part of BNP's election manifesto, Fakhrul replied in the negative. “We have clearly said this is our vision, not election manifesto. We have also said it is tough to implement the Vision-2030 but not impossible.”

The BNP leader said their party will implement the Vision-2030 if it returns to power.UNB.
