Dhaka: BNP’s different associate bodies will stage demonstrations on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at different parts of the country to protest the submission of a charge-sheet against its Chairperson Khaleda Zia and 77 others in an arson attack case in Comilla.
Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal announced the programmes on Tuesday through separate statements.
Jubo Dal will stage demonstrations at all upazilas and thanas on Wednesday while in all district towns on Thursday and in all metropolitan cities on Saturday.
Swechchhasebak Dal will stage the similar programmes in all district towns and cities on Wednesday and at all thanas and municipalities on Thursday.
Besides, Chhatra Dal will stage demonstrations and rallies across the country, including all upazilas, districts and cities, and on university campuses on Saturday.
On Monday, Mohammad Ibrahim, sub-inspector of Chouddagram Police Station, placed a charge-sheet to the district court of Comilla.
On February 3, 2015, eight people were burned to death when a group of miscreants set a bus of ‘Icon Paribahan’ afire by hurling petrol bomb on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Jagamohonpur in Chouddagram upazila during the countrywide blockade programme enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
Police filed a case against 56 identified and 15/20 unidentified people in this connection.UNB
