Dhaka: The BNP has urged the government to decrease rather than increase the price of gas. Party leaders have termed the new price structure as anti-consumer, and urged the people to stand against it.
BNP leaders made the call at a 2-hour sit-in programme to protest the recent increase in gas prices.
The demonstration was held at the Engineers' Institute in the capital this morning. It was attended by senior BNP leaders including party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam. Similar demonstrations were also held in other parts of the country.
