Dhaka desk: BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the newly elected chief election commissioner AKM Nurul Huda is more pro-Awami League than the outgoing CEC Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad.The BNP leader made the allegation at a press conference at the Party's central office of Nayapaltan on Friday.
“The Newly appointed CEC AKM Nurul Huda is several steps ahead of the outgoing CEC Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad regarding the spirit of AL,” Rizvi said.
He oversures that elections will be onesided and voterless if elections are held under Nurul Huda.
After appointment of new CEC, no confidence is created among the people that the next national election will be held in a transperent manner, Rizvi stated.
The BNP leader pointed out that Huda's past activities and recent statements after his appointment reflect he is a ‘committed Awami Leaguer'.
Rizvi believes that the nation will thank him if he steps down from the constitutional post respecting the public sentiment.
