Staff Correspondent:Ruling Awami League today expelled Chandpur’s Haimchar upazila Chairman Nur Hossain Patwary who drew widespread criticism for “walking on human bridge” of school students.
The party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader made the declaration of expelling him in Munshiganj this morning while auspicating a bridge, reports our local correspondent.
“Nur Hossain Patwary has not only been fired from the party but disciplinary action will be taken against him,” Quader, also the transport minister told our correspondents.
A picture of the Haimchar chairman walking over a “human bridge” formed by students of Nilkomal Osmania High School during the annual sports event on January 30 went viral on social media, drawing outrage and criticism.
