The Obamas are reportedly moving to California. Despite renting this family home in Washington DC from January, they are said to have purchased a new house in Rancho Mirage, a city located just outside Palm Springs in California, according to The New York Post.

Rancho Mirage is home to the presidential getaway Sunnylands – said to be the West Coast version of Camp David – meaning that family has probably visited plenty of times and that's why they have decided to settle there. Although they have already purchased the property, they won't be moving anytime soon. The family plans to stay in Washington DC until Sasha graduates from high school. It has also been reported that they have bought a holiday home in Obama's childhood state of Hawaii.

The Daily Mail notes, “The Obamas are reportedly leasing the house from Joe Lockhart, who served as press secretary to Bill Clinton. The home features plenty for the Obama's to brag about in D.C.'s hot real estate market. It has a gourmet kitchen featuring a six burner stove, according to an online database reviewed by Daily Mail Online. In case the Obamas have grown accustomed to having help around the house, there is a butler's pantry.” Yes, in addition to the $5.3 million 8 and a half baths home in D.C., Obama has purchased a multi-million dollar home in Rancho Mirage, California, a community known for its world-class golf courses. This will come in handy for the Golfer-in-Chief, who by January will have spent 270 days of the presidency on the links.
