Dhaka desk: The government on Wednesday summoned Myanmar’s envoy to Dhaka and expressed deep concerns over the persecution of Rohingyas in the Rakhine state.
Foreign Ministry Secretary (bilateral ties) Kamrul Ahsan had the meeting with the ambassador in the Foreing Ministry complex in the afternoon.
The Secretary urged Myanmar to stop the torture and attacks on Rohingya population.
The call from the Bangladesh authorities comes as the Myanmar military has launched armed assaults on minority Rohingya population in the Rakhine state.
