DHAKA, Aug 22, 2016 (BSS)- Awami League presidium member and Roads and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said BNP was the mastermind behind the August 21 grenade attack of 2004.
“You are the masterminds behind the scandalous incident. The BNP, the then BNP-Jamaat government and ‘Hawa Bhaban' (defacto power house) can't avoid the responsibility of the horrendous attack. BNP's present and future would remain blackened through this mayhem,” he said pointing at BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir who termed the August 21 grenade attack as a black chapter in the country's politics.
Quader said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion and news photography exhibition organised by Dhaka City North unit of Awami Juba League (AJL) at the Gallery of Shilpakala Academy at Segunbagicha in the city marking the August 21 carnage of 2004.
President of Dhaka City North unit of Awami Juba League (AJL) Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil presded over the discussion, also addressed, among others, by AJL chairman Omar Faruque Chowdhury, Awami League organising secretary Ahmed Hossain and Prime Minister's private secretary Saifuzzaman Shikhar.
