\"\"Dhaka:<\/strong> Under the skillful leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, development in all sectors has touched the entire country improving the livelihoods and living standard of common people.<\/p>\n

“In continuation of this, development activities are continuing in every\u00a0union of Pirganj upazila without any stop for a moment even during the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at a\u00a0function today as the chief guest.<\/p>\n

She distributed bicycles, sewing machines, wheelchairs and spray machines\u00a0among the beneficiaries of Choitrokol and Bhendabari unions in the function\u00a0held at the Madrasa ground of the shrine of poet Kazi Heyat Mamud in\u00a0Choitrokol union of Pirganj upazila in the district.<\/p>\n

Presided over by Pirganj Upazila Awami League Acting President Professor\u00a0Nurul Amin Raja, its General Secretary and Pirganj Municipal Mayor Tazimul\u00a0Islam Shamim moderated the function.<\/p>\n

Deputy Commissioner Md Asib Ahsan, Superintendent of Police Md Ferdous Ali\u00a0Chowdhury, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Biroda Rani Roy, Choitrokol union Chairman\u00a0Sadikul Islam Sadik and Bhendabari union Chairman Atikuzzaman Shah spoke as\u00a0special guests.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the function, local public representatives, heads of\u00a0different institutions and enlisted educational institutions under the\u00a0Monthly Pay Order (MPO) scheme greeted the speaker with floral wreaths.<\/p>\n

Later, she distributed a total of 22 sewing machines, 20 sprayer machines, 20\u00a0wheelchairs and 100 bicycles to the beneficiaries of Choitrokol and\u00a0Bhendabari unions.<\/p>\n

The Speaker said the process is underway to immortalize the memory of all\u00a0eminent personalities like Kazi Heyat Mamud, the last poet of the middle ages\u00a0in Bengali literature.<\/p>\n

“For this purpose, a plan has been taken to build the Kazi Heyat Mamud\u00a0Complex,” she said.<\/p>\n

She mentioned that with the money allocated from the District Council in\u00a0favor of the Speaker, a multipurpose training center will be constructed in\u00a0Bhendabari union and a cooperative society will be formed for mothers and\u00a0sisters involved in milk and meat production.<\/p>\n

“These programmes will be implemented so that working women can enjoy the\u00a0benefits from their activities sitting at their own upazila,” she said,\u00a0adding that a master plan to turn Pirganj into a model upazila is under
\nprocess.<\/p>\n

As an election pledge, she put special importance on the successful\u00a0implementation of all development activities to alleviate sufferings of the\u00a0sisters and mothers of Pirganj upazila to ensure their development and\u00a0empowerment.<\/p>\n

Later, the Speaker met people from all walks of life in her chamber at the\u00a0Upazila Administrative Building in Pirganj municipal town.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, she exchanged views with the leaders of Pirganj Upazila Awami League at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the morning, the Speaker came to Pirganj by road from Saidpur\u00a0airport after arriving there by air from Dhaka and left Pirganj for Saidpur\u00a0by road in the afternoon to fly to Dhaka in the evening today.<\/p>\n
