The court declared cancellation of Zayed's candidacy, and declaring Nipun as general secretary of BFAA, illegal.<\/p>\n

The verdict was given after holding hearing on a writ petition filed by Zayed, challenging the legality of the cancellation of his candidacy and declaring Nipun as GS of the association.<\/p>\n

Hawover, Nipun's lawyer\u00a0said that his client will move an appeal before the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court very soon, challenging the HC verdict.<\/p>\n

The 17th edition of the Association elections was held at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on January 28. Noted actor Ilias Kanchan elected president and Zayed Khan was re-elected the general secretary of the artistes\u2019 body at the election.<\/p>\n

Later, Nipun, the general secretary candidate, has lodged a written complaint towards the Chairman of the Appellate Board, asking for the cancellation of Zayed Khan candidacy.<\/p>\n

The Appellate Board declared Nipun as the newly elected general secretary of Bangladesh Film Artistes Association after announcing the suspension of Zayed Khan candidacy on February 4.<\/p>\n
