Chittaranjan Dutta (CR Dutt), Commander of Sector 4, formed during the Great Liberation War of Bangladesh, who was in the United States, has died of various diseases due to old age. Kavita Dasgupta, daughter of CR Dutta from Florida, told the media at night that General Dutt suddenly fell in the bathroom of her residence on Thursday, August 20. It broke his leg. After that, General Dutt was rushed to the hospital where his condition deteriorated.<\/p>\n
Chitta Ranjan Dutta (CR Dutt) is a sector commander of the Bangladesh Liberation War. He has been the Sector Commander of Sector 4. He was awarded the title of Bir Uttam for his special contribution in the war of liberation. He is associated with the \u2018Sector Commanders Forum\u2019.<\/p>\n
Chitta Ranjan Dutta was born on 1 January 1926 in Shillong, Assam. His ancestral home is in Mirashi village of Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj.<\/p>\n
Chitta Ranjan Dutta joined the Pakistan Army in 1951. A few days later he was commissioned as a ‘second lieutenant'. In 1975, he fought the first battle in his military life He fought for Pakistan in the 1965 Indo-Pak war as the commander of a company in Asalong. The Pakistani government rewarded him for his heroic contribution to the war.<\/p>\n
His role in the liberation war is many. After the formation of the Mujibnagar government on 10 April, Tajuddin Ahmed was nominated as the Prime Minister and MAG Osmani was given the charge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Liberation War. He divided Bangladesh into a total of 11 sectors. Apart from the eastern part of Sylhet district and Khowai Shaistaganj railway line, Sector 4 was formed with an area up to Sylhet Dauki road on the east and north side and Chitta Ranjan Dutta was appointed as the commander of this sector.<\/p>\n
After taking charge as the Sector Commander, he first set up camp at Rashidpur in Sylhet. Tea gardens across a wide area around. He used the cover of the tea garden to determine the tactics of war.
