{"id":61562,"date":"2020-08-13T11:57:45","date_gmt":"2020-08-13T11:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/?p=61562"},"modified":"2020-08-13T11:57:45","modified_gmt":"2020-08-13T11:57:45","slug":"loan-fraud-embezzlement-ex-cj-sk-sinha-10-others-indicted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/?p=61562","title":{"rendered":"Loan fraud, embezzlement: Ex-CJ SK Sinha, 10 others indicted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img class=\"wp-image-61563 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/resize-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"893\" height=\"595\" srcset=\"https:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/resize-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/resize-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/resize-696x464.jpg 696w, https:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/resize-630x420.jpg 630w, https:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/resize.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 893px) 100vw, 893px\" \/>Dhaka: A Dhaka court has framed charges against former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha and 10 others in a case filed for alleged loan fraud and embezzlement of Tk 4 crore from The Farmers Bank.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Judge Shaikh Nazmul Alam of the Special Judge Court-4 of Dhaka framed the charges on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The court also issued arrest warrants against 8 accused, includign SK Sinha, as they have been shown fugitives in the charge sheet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The court fixed August 18 to start trial of the case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">On December 10 last year, the Anti-Corruption Commission pressed charges against the 11 persons in connection with the case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The other accused are the bank's former MD AKM Shamim, Senior Executive Vice-President and head of Credit Division Gazi Salahuddin, First Vice-President of Credit Division Swapan Kumar Roy, First Vice-President Shafiuddin Askary, former chairman of the bank's audit committee Mahbubul Haque Chisty and Vice-President Lutful Haque.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">One Shahjahan of Tangail's Sreehoripur village, Ranjit Chandra Saha of the district's Jodunathpur village, his wife Santri Roy and nephew Niranjan Chandra Saha have also been made accused.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Of them, AKM Shamim and Gazi Salahuddin are now on bail while Mahbubul Haque Chisty is in jail.
