\u201cA panic has been created worldwide due to the outbreak of coronavirus. Though the deaths caused by the disease are not more, but (the extent of) panic is huge. So we\u2019ll have to properly follow the instructions about the deadly disease to keep the country free from it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The prime minister said this while inaugurating the countrywide cleanliness campaign titled \u201cParichchanna Gram, Paichchanna Shahar\u201d (clean villages, clean towns) through a videoconference from her official Ganabhaban residence here this afternoon.<\/p>\n
She said the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) is frequently disseminating bulletins to make the people aware on the coronavirus.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll will have to abide by the directives (of the IEDCR), and then we\u2019ll be able to protect the country from the onslaught of the virus,\u201d the premier said.<\/p>\n
Urging the people to always remain neat and clean, Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh is a victorious nation which earned independence though a liberation war.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a victorious nation, we want to move on the world stage by raising our head high. To achieve the goal, we\u2019ll have to build the country beautifully and for this, cleanliness is necessary for all,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
In this connection, the prime minister said the issue of cleanliness has been mentioned in our religion. \u201cSo we want the people of our country to always stay neat and clean \u2026 if we don\u2019t remain neat and clean, the people of our surrounding areas cannot stay well and the outbreak of diseases will always be seen,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Sheikh Hasina said the country some times witness problems like the menace of dengue and other diseases.<\/p>\n
