Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a proclamation in the U.S. capital on Monday congratulating the people of Bangladesh on this special occasion, said the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.daily-sun.com\/assets\/archive2\/images\/2020\/03.March\/03-03-2020\/DC.jpg\" alt=\"Washington, D.C. declares March 17, 2020-March 17, 2021 as Mujib Year\" width=\"853\" height=\"1253\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The proclamation says the United States Department of State cities \u201cBangladesh as a global example of a democratic, tolerant, pluralistic, and moderate nation\u201d whose friendship is important to the United States.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It says \u201cunder the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Bangladesh is transforming and thriving into a \u201cGolden Bangla\u201d as dreamt by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The proclamation also says \u201cthe Embassy of Bangladesh has contributed to the growth and cultural diversity of Washington, DC.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News Desk: The Mayor of Washington, D.C., has declared Mujib Year beginning March 17, 2020 to March 17, 2021 as the year of celebration of the centennial birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
