{"id":45073,"date":"2018-06-28T14:22:27","date_gmt":"2018-06-28T14:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/?p=45073"},"modified":"2018-06-28T14:22:27","modified_gmt":"2018-06-28T14:22:27","slug":"hc-rejects-sayeedis-plea-for-division-in-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/?p=45073","title":{"rendered":"HC rejects Sayeedi\u2019s plea for division in jail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img class=\"wp-image-45074 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/145225_bangladesh_pratidin_Sayedi_pic-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1056\" height=\"704\" srcset=\"https:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/145225_bangladesh_pratidin_Sayedi_pic-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/en.bornomalanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/145225_bangladesh_pratidin_Sayedi_pic.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1056px) 100vw, 1056px\" \/>Dhaka: The High Court on Thursday rejected a writ plea filed by convicted war criminal Delawar Hossain Sayeedi seeking division facilities in jail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The HC bench of Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir passed the order after concluding hearing on the petition on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Earlier on June 24, Sayeedi, who has been serving jail sentence in Kashimpur Jail-1, filed the writ petition with the HC saying that he had got division facilities while he was an under-trial prisoner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In the petition, Sayeedi sought the HC directive on the jail authorities to provide him with the division facilities in jail and to send him to a specialised hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The International Crimes Tribunal-1 on February 28, 2013, sentenced Sayeedi to death for killing Ibrahim Kutti and one Bisa Bali in Pirojpur during the Liberation War in 1971.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Following two appeals by Sayeedi and the government, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on September 17, 2014 commuted Sayeedi's death sentence to imprisonment until death.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dhaka: The High Court on Thursday rejected a writ plea filed by convicted war criminal Delawar Hossain Sayeedi seeking division facilities in jail.
