\"\"Dhaka:Professor Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal\u2019s wife Professor Dr Yasmeen Haque today confirmed that her husband was mentally well after the yesterday\u2019s knife attack in Sylhet.<\/p>\n

Dr Yasmeen Haque came up with the comment while briefing journalists on her husband\u2019s health condition at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka around 11am.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no need to take him abroad for treatment as he is doing well and now out of danger,\u201d she told reporters.<\/p>\n

Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR), in a message, today also confirmed Professor Dr Zafar Iqbal is now out of danger.<\/p>\n

Professor Dr Zafar Iqbal\u2019s attacker Foyzur Rahman, however, has also been admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Sylhet.<\/p>\n

Two relatives of Foyzur Rahman, the attacker on Professor Dr Zafar Iqbal, have been detained in connection with the attack on Saturday midnight.<\/p>\n

The detainees are Foyzur Rahman\u2019s uncles- Fazlur Rahman, a joint-convener of the Sunamganj District Krishok League and Abul Kahar Luloi.<\/p>\n

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Fazlur from Foyzur Rahman\u2019s home, adjacent to the university campus while Abul Kahar was held from Koliar Kapon area of Dirai upazila in Sunamganj.<\/p>\n

RAB-9 Sunamganj Captain Lieutenant Commander Foysal Ahmed has confirmed the detention to journalists on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

A laptop from Foyzur Rahman\u2019s home was also seized, the officer added.<\/p>\n

Earlier, a case has been filed with the Jalalabad Police Station in Sylhet over the attack on Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, a renowned writer and Professor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST).<\/p>\n

The university authorities have lodged the case on Saturday night, Ishfaqul Hossain, the registrar of the university, has confirmed the news.<\/p>\n

Professor Zafar Iqbal, who is the head of the EEE department and a professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department at SUST, came under attack around 5pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
