The Indonesian President arrived here yesterday afternoon on a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Bangladesh counterpart M Abdul Hamid.<\/p>\n

Widodo's official engagement began with paying a courtesy call on Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban yesterday evening.<\/p>\n

The Indonesian President laid a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar this morning to pay homage to 1971 Liberation War martyrs.<\/p>\n

Then he visited Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi and placed a wreath at the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's portrait of to pay respect to the memory of the greatest Bengali of all times.<\/p>\n

Widodo will go to Cox's Bazar this afternoon to witness the plight of Rohingya people who fled sectarian violence in Myanmar.<\/p>\n

The displaced Rohingyas have fled to Bangladesh territory since the Myanmar army launched a crackdown on Aug 25, 2017 in their Buddhist-majority northwestern Rakhine State.<\/p>\n
