Beonomala Desk (Dhaka, 30 September, 2017)): A span (superstructure) has been installed on the No. 37 and No. 38 pillars of the Padma Bridge at Jajira point of Shariatpur, making the mega project visible.<\/p>\n

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the span installation work around 10:00am on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Khandker Anwarul Islam, Senior Secretary of Bridges Division, and local lawmaker Sagufta Yasmin Emily, were present at the time.<\/p>\n

This is the first among the 41 spans to be installed for the 6.15 kilometers two-level bridge.<\/p>\n

The bridge will have a four-lane highway on the upper level for motor vehicles and a single track railway on the lower level.<\/p>\n

The construction work of the long-awaited Padma Bridge started in December in 2015 and it is expected that the work will be completed by December in 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
