Tamim told the media in the post-match press conference, \u201cI am very satisfied. We batted first in hot weather. We did all the hard work. Sabbir [Rahman] played brilliantly. Shakib [al Hasan] and I had a really good partnership. They (Sri Lanka) were bowling well during a period, and we rotated the strike and looked for the odd boundary. We planned our innings very well. Getting the hundred, and winning the game are the best feelings you can ever get.<\/div>\n

\u201cThere was a time when I was struggling a little bit. The message from the dressing room was to keep on batting, and try to bat as long as possible. I am very happy to be successful,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Tamim informed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated him and the team after their series-opening win.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Prime Minister called. We talked with her. After the (second) Test win, I couldn\u2019t talk to her; she spoke to Shakib and Mushfiqur [Rahim]. After we had won [Saturday], she called (Bangladesh Cricket) board president [Nazmul Hasan]. Many of us got to speak to her. She congratulated all of us; it is a great feeling when the country\u2019s Prime Minister wishes you well,\u201d said Tamim.<\/p>\n

The Tigers had a good record at home in recent times, especially in the limited-over formats. However, they struggled in foreign conditions not so long ago.<\/p>\n

Tamim though believes they are slowly but surely progressing in away tours as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe struggled when we started playing international cricket, and then there was a time when we wanted to be a strong side at home. Now, we are slowly progressing in overseas conditions as well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Despite the convincing nature of victory, Tamim informed that they still have to do it all in order to clinch the three-match series.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a great way to start an ODI series, but there are still two more games to go. We need to be at our best to beat them. They are a quality side. Winning the series is very important. We are in a position to win the series. It will be a huge achievement to beat Sri Lanka at their backyard. It won\u2019t be easy, and we have to work harder in the next match,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In contrast, Sri Lanka\u2019s Dinesh Chandimal cut a forlorn figure and admitted that they have to work really hard to bounce back in the series.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are a young group and hopefully, (we) will learn soon and do things right in the next game. You can\u2019t say every time that this is our transition period. We need to put our hands up and come up with results. We have some game plans up our sleeves and are looking forward to execute them,\u201d said Chandimal.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cWe do a lot of training with regards to fielding. There\u2019s pressure when we come into the game. There are several young players and there could be mistakes.
